Your first 3D printer — or the one you outgrow in a month? That is the whole decision, and for a creator it comes down to three Bambu Lab machines: the A1 mini, the A1 and the P2S. If you want to print props, cosplay parts, camera-rig clips and product prototypes at home, here is which one fits what you actually make — with Bambu’s own numbers and today’s Muscat prices.
The quick answer
Pick the A1 mini Combo if…
It is your first printer, desk space is tight and your projects fit in a 180 mm cube: phone and camera accessories, small props, clips, product mock-ups. The Combo adds the AMS lite for up to 4 colours, and it is the one on our shelf right now.
Pick the A1 if…
You want the same easy, open design with more room. A 256 mm cube lets you print helmet pieces, bigger props and rig parts in one go instead of gluing halves together. It is still a PLA, PETG and TPU machine: Bambu rates ABS and ASA as not recommended here.
Pick the P2S if…
You want an enclosed printer with a door sensor and a carbon filter, 600 mm/s top speed, a hardened-steel nozzle and room for tougher materials: ABS, ASA, nylon and carbon-fibre grades are on Bambu’s supported list. It is the pick for working parts, and the most expensive of the three.

What are you actually going to print?
Props and cosplay
Size decides this one. On the A1 mini anything bigger than 180 mm has to be printed in pieces and glued; the A1 and P2S give you 256 mm in every direction. If your design has a badge or a logo, multi-colour printing saves a lot of painting. PLA is the usual choice and every printer here handles it well.
Camera rigs, mounts and clips
Cable clips, lens-cap holders, handles and small brackets suit all three. Two honest warnings: a car parked in an Omani summer gets very hot, and PLA is not the material to leave there, so ask us before printing a part that will sit in the sun and look at ASA or ABS on the P2S. And never hang an expensive camera on a printed part you have not tested; add a safety strap.
Product prototypes
To check a fit, a shape or a packaging idea before you pay for a mould or a supplier sample, the A1 mini or A1 is plenty: Bambu calibrates bed level, vibration and flow automatically before every print. Pick the P2S when the prototype has to behave like the real part, with tougher materials and a closed chamber for steady results.
Making content about the printing itself
A print timelapse is easy content, and all three printers have a built-in camera with timelapse. Bambu’s own model site, MakerWorld, lists over a million ready-to-print models, so you do not need to design anything to start.
Do you need the AMS?
The AMS is the add-on that feeds several spools to the printer for multi-colour prints. On the A1 mini and A1 it is the AMS lite: one unit per printer, up to 4 colours. On the P2S it is the AMS 2 Pro, which adds filament drying and, per Bambu, feeds filament 60% faster. If you only print one colour, or you like painting by hand, the printer on its own is fine. If you make logos, badges or multi-colour props, take the Combo.
Living with one at home
- Quiet: the A1 mini and A1 stay under 48 dB in Silent Mode according to Bambu. For the P2S we have no official dB figure, so we do not quote one.
- Heat: Bambu lists 10–30 °C as the P2S working temperature. In an Omani summer, print in an air-conditioned room.
- Air: the P2S has an activated-carbon filter. The A1 series has none, so give it a ventilated spot.
- Space: the A1 mini is the lightest at 5.5 kg; the P2S is the heaviest at 14.9 kg and needs a solid, level surface.
What it costs to keep printing
Filament is the running cost to plan for; electricity is minor next to it. A Bambu Lab PLA Basic spool is 1 kg, and a refill without a spool is cheaper if you already own a reusable spool. Shelf prices on the date of this page, incl. VAT:
- Bambu Lab PLA Basic, Gold (refill, no spool) — 9.900 OMR · in stock
- Bambu Lab PLA Basic, Bambu Green (with reusable spool) — 12.900 OMR · in stock
- Bambu Lab PETG HF, White (with reusable spool) — 15.900 OMR · in stock
- Bambu Lab PETG Translucent, Clear (with reusable spool) — 12.900 OMR · in stock
Spare hotends and nozzles are sold separately, and replacement is a one-clip job on these printers.

Frequently asked questions
Which 3D printer should a creator buy in Oman?
For most creators starting out, the Bambu Lab A1 mini Combo: it is the smallest and cheapest of the three Combos, prints in up to 4 colours with the AMS lite, and it is the one in stock. Choose the A1 if you print bigger props, and the P2S if you need an enclosed printer for tougher materials.
What is the difference between the Bambu Lab A1 mini and the A1?
Size and screen. The A1 mini prints up to 180 × 180 × 180 mm and has a 2.4-inch touchscreen; the A1 prints up to 256 × 256 × 256 mm with a 3.5-inch touchscreen. Both reach 500 mm/s and 10,000 mm/s², and both are open designs.
Is the Bambu Lab P2S worth it over the A1?
If you need what the P2S adds: an enclosed chamber with a carbon filter, a hardened-steel nozzle, 600 mm/s top speed and support for ABS, ASA, nylon and carbon-fibre grades. If you print PLA and PETG props and accessories, the A1 does the job for much less.
Do I need the AMS to print in colour?
Yes, for automatic multi-colour printing. The AMS lite (A1 mini and A1 Combos) holds up to 4 colours; the AMS 2 Pro (P2S Combo) has 4 slots and dries filament. Without an AMS you print one colour at a time from a single spool.
Can the A1 mini or A1 print ABS or ASA?
Bambu Lab rates ABS, ASA, PC, PA and carbon or glass-fibre filaments as not recommended on the A1 mini and A1, and PLA, PETG, TPU and PVA as ideal. For ABS and ASA use the enclosed P2S.
Are the Bambu Lab printers in stock in Oman?
On 4 Oct 2026 the A1 mini Combo is in stock; the A1 and P2S are available by order and we confirm the arrival time on WhatsApp before you pay. Bambu Lab filaments are in stock. Each product page shows the live status.
Can I pay for a 3D printer in installments?
Yes. Bank Muscat and Meethaq card installment plans are open to everyone. Our in-house plan is for Omani nationals 18+, from 200.000 OMR, subject to approval.
Do I have to design my own 3D models?
No. Bambu Lab’s MakerWorld site lists over a million ready-to-print models, and Bambu Studio, the slicing software, runs on macOS, Windows and Linux (Linux for the P2S).
