The R6 V undercuts the FX3's original $3,899 price by a third at $2,499, with a much bigger 32.5MP sensor (FX3 is 12.1MP, FX30 is 26MP APS-C) and Canon color science + the RF lens ecosystem. You already work without an EVF or mechanical shutter on Sony's Cinema Line — the R6 V won't feel like a downgrade there.
Already own a Canon R6 II or R6 III?
The R6 V only makes sense if you never touch the viewfinder or shutter button and just want the video engine: 7K 60p RAW, 7K 30p open gate, uncropped 4K 120p, a built-in cooling fan for long recordings, and 7.5-stop IBIS — all in a smaller, lighter, cheaper body than the R6 III.

You shoot stills regularly. No EVF means no eye-level composing in bright daylight, and no mechanical shutter means no 12fps mechanical burst for fast action. The R6 III keeps every one of the R6 V's video specs and adds the full stills toolkit, for $300 more.
