Insta360 X6 vs DJI Osmo 360

Same headline numbers. 133 OMR apart. The difference is in how long you can shoot.

The short answer. On paper they tie where most people look: both record 8K at 50fps and both take 120MP 360 photos. They separate on endurance and build — the X6 records 140 minutes to the Osmo's 100, writes at 240 Mbps to 170, survives 20 m of water to 10 m, and carries 64 GB inside the camera where the Osmo has none. The Osmo 360 is 13 g lighter and 133.100 OMR cheaper. That is the whole trade.

Two things you should know before you decide

The X6 sensor is 1/1.1", not a true 1-inch. Insta360 markets it as "1-inch imaging". On the measured figure it is the same size class as the Osmo 360's sensor — so do not buy the X6 expecting a sensor advantage. Buy it for the endurance, the bitrate, the depth rating and the storage.

DJI has a successor coming. The Osmo 360 II was teased for 13 August 2026 in China. As of today there is no spec sheet, no price, and no global release date — DJI's own site has no page for it. If you can wait months and you are set on DJI, wait. If you are buying this month, the Osmo 360 is the DJI you can actually get.

Shoot longer and deeper → X6. Spend less → Osmo 360.

Editing: the X6 cuts the montage for you

Insta360 ships the X6 with its Zero Editing suite — AI Director chooses the angles, Auto Edit 2.0 turns raw 360 footage into a finished montage, and Moments Pro collects highlights in the cloud. If the editing chair is where your time disappears, this is the X6’s quiet advantage.
