Sony FE 50mm F1.2 GM (SEL50F12GM) firmware update

• Improves an issue where, on rare occasions, the aperture value may become unstable when you turn the IRIS ring.
• Still the latest version for this lens (June 2021).

1. Check the lens version: attach the lens and, on the camera, open MENU > Setup > Version. Sony: Ver.01 needs the update.
2. Download the Lens System Software Updater for Windows or Mac from Sony's page (button below). On a Mac, check Sony's Mac download page first for any helper tool your macOS version needs. Sony lists the supported Windows and macOS versions on its page: check yours first.
3. Use a battery with three bars or more (or Sony's AC adaptor) and detach the vertical grip. With the lens on the camera and the camera off, start the updater, then turn the camera on.
4. On the camera, set USB Connection to Mass Storage, take the memory card out, and connect the camera to the computer with its supplied USB cable. Follow the updater's steps.
5. When the camera shows "Lens update complete", disconnect the cable, turn the camera off, take the battery out and put it back, and turn it on.

Don't remove the battery during the update. Sony's memory-card version of this lens update is for the ILCE-7RM6 only. Sony's downloads list may show a newer date for this file: that is a re-listing, not a new version.
