- 2.01 (11 Nov 2025): fixes the battery level warning or the Battery exhausted message still appearing after charging.
- Fixes the camera failing to power on after you turn it off during a USB streaming connection.
- Improves the operational stability of the camera.
- The same update also carries Sony's earlier changes, such as the Framing Stabilizer for movies, the Dynamic Active SteadyShot mode for movies, OK/NG/KEEP flags and Shot Marks, scheduled FTP transfers and direct upload to Creators' Cloud. Some need Creators' App 2.9.0 or later and may not be available in every country. Sony's page does not name the version of that earlier list.

Worth installing: it fixes a battery warning that stays on after charging and a power-on failure after USB streaming.
How to update
- Download BODYDATA.DAT from Sony's page (button below). You can also download it with Sony's Creators' App.
- Format a memory card in the camera (this erases it), then save BODYDATA.DAT in the root of the card. Don't rename it, and keep only one BODYDATA.DAT on the card.
- Use a fully charged NP-FZ100 battery (at least 51%).
- Put the card in the camera. On the camera: MENU › Setup › Setup Option › Version › Body, choose Software Update, then Execute.
- It takes about 6 minutes. Don't remove the battery or the card. The camera restarts by itself when it is done.
If the camera is hot, the update may not start: wait for it to cool down.
