Worth installing: a reliability fix for the aperture.
How to update
- Check your version: attach the lens, turn the camera on, press MENU and choose [SETUP MENU] › [Firmware version]: it shows the camera and lens versions. If the lens already shows 1.20, you don't need this update.
- Download the firmware file (MLZ24_120F4S0120.bin) from Nikon's page (button below) to your computer.
- With a card slot or card reader, copy it to the root (top level, not a folder) of a memory card formatted in the camera. The camera won't find it inside a folder.
- With the lens on the camera, put the card in, turn the camera on, choose [SETUP MENU] › [Firmware version] and follow the screen.
- When the camera says the update is complete, turn it off and take the card out. Turn it on again and check the new version.
Nikon: the lens may move during the update. The update runs on Z-series and Z CINEMA cameras.
