Should you update?
Update, but read this first
Read first: note your RTH Altitude and Maximum Flight Distance before updating; DJI says the update may reset them.
How to update
- Charge everything: DJI says the goggles need at least 20% and the remote control device at least 15%.
- Turn on the aircraft, the goggles and the remote and make sure they are all linked.
- Connect the goggles' USB-C port to your phone, open DJI Fly and follow the prompt to update. You need an internet connection. This updates the aircraft, goggles and remote together.
- It takes several minutes. It is normal for the gimbal to go limp, the aircraft lights to blink and the aircraft to restart and beep. Wait until it finishes.
- Restart the aircraft, the remote and the goggles when it is done.
DJI: update each extra battery when the goggles prompt you. The update may reset flight settings such as RTH Altitude and Maximum Flight Distance, and the remote's custom button settings, so note yours before and set them again after. You can also update one device from a computer with DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drones Series): don't unplug the USB-C cable during the update. If it fails, restart everything (and the app) and try again.
