Update, but read this first
Worth installing, especially with Dual Pixel RAW. Read first: Canon notes (with version 1.3.0) that a firmware update deletes registered data in the camera, so save it to a card before updating.
How to update
- Download firmware 1.3.2 for the EOS R5 Mark II from Canon's page (button below) and unzip it. The folder also has Canon's own instructions (PDF).
- Format a memory card in the camera (this erases the card), then copy only the firmware file (R5213200.FIR) to the top level of the card, not inside a folder.
- Insert a fully charged battery and the card, and turn the camera on.
- Open the camera's setup menu, choose Firmware, and follow the screen to start the update.
- Don't turn the camera off, open the card or battery door, or press buttons until the camera says the update is complete.
Canon's note (with version 1.3.0): a firmware update deletes registered data stored in the camera. Save it first with [Save/load registered data on card] and load it back after the update.
