Worth installing, especially for the faster travel speed and the High-Flow Hotend: both need Bambu Studio v2.8.3.66 or later.

How to update

Bambu's own guide: the P2S checks for updates itself.

  1. When the printer is on Wi-Fi and bound to your Bambu account, it shows a prompt when a new firmware is available. Tap Confirm: it opens the Update section of the menu.
  2. Tap Update to start. It can take a few minutes.
  3. Don't disconnect the power until it finishes. The printer restarts and shows a confirmation message.

If it fails, restart the printer and update again from the on-screen prompt. If it keeps failing, contact Bambu's support team.

Offline, with a USB drive:

  1. Put a USB drive in the printer and format it: Settings > USB Storage > Format External Storage. On the P2S the printer formats FAT32 only: a drive under 2 TB can be formatted on the printer, and a drive larger than 2 TB has to be formatted exFAT on a computer first.
  2. Download the offline update package for your printer from Bambu (button below).
  3. Eject the drive: Settings > USB Storage > Eject.
  4. Copy the package to the root of the drive. Don't rename it or unzip it: that makes the update fail.
  5. Put the drive back in. On the printer: Settings > Firmware > Update Offline, then choose the firmware version. It takes 20 to 30 minutes: don't turn the printer off or cut the power. It restarts by itself when it is done.

Let us update it for you

Book an appointment and our salesman updates your device in our showroom: 2.000 OMR if you bought it from Skyorbits, 5.000 OMR if you bought it elsewhere (incl. VAT, paid in the showroom).

When you book, type the version your device shows now (see How to update above). He checks it first: if your device is already up to date, he tells you and you don't need to come.

We take each update's notes from the maker's own page. An update can reach devices in Oman a few days after it is published. Every fact double-checked against the maker's page: 08-11-2026
