The "nifty fifty" for RF mirrorless — the easiest, most affordable way to get that blurry-background look.
The Canon RF 50mm F1.8 STM is a small, light, quiet prime with a bright f/1.8 aperture that blurs backgrounds beautifully for portraits and lets in plenty of light as it drops. The natural 50mm perspective and remarkable close-focusing make it a perfect first RF prime, thanks to a redesigned optical layout for the RF mount and a smooth STM motor.
Who it's for: new EOS R owners and portrait shooters who want sharp images and creamy blur on a budget.
