Nikon Z5II firmware update

• C 1.20 (18 Aug 2026): changes the available shutter speed range for [Minimum shutter speed] under [ISO sensitivity settings] in the PHOTO SHOOTING MENU.
• [Cloud Picture Control] is renamed [Imaging Recipe], and [Add Cloud Picture Control files] is now [Download Imaging Recipes].
• New [On saving user settings] option in [Save focus position] in the SETUP MENU.
• New [Automatic monitor display switch] in the SETUP MENU.
• New [Wi-Fi Always ON] (connect to a smart device, AP mode) and [Inactive connection timeout] (connect to an FTP server) in the NETWORK MENU.
• Aperture is no longer restricted when recording video in mode S (shutter-priority auto).
• If you update from version 1.00: a camera paired with the SnapBridge app may not reconnect by itself. Choose [Forget camera] in the app and pair it again.
• This update includes all earlier updates.

1. Check your version: turn the camera on, press MENU and choose [Firmware version] in the SETUP MENU. If it already shows the latest version, you don't need this update.
2. Download the firmware file (Z5_2_0120.bin) from Nikon's page (button below) to your computer.
3. With a card reader, copy it to the root (top level, not a folder) of a memory card formatted in the camera. The camera won't find it inside a folder.
4. Put the card in the camera, choose [Firmware version] in the SETUP MENU and follow the screen.
5. When it is done, turn the camera off, take the card out and check the new version.

Nikon's warning: during the update, attach only a Z-mount NIKKOR lens or the FTZ II / FTZ adapter, no other lens or adapter.
