Update, but read this first
Read first: DJI says the battery firmware is inside the aircraft update, so update every battery, and note your RTH Altitude and Maximum Flight Distance because they may reset.
How to update
- With the remote controller: connect the aircraft and the remote and open DJI Fly. When it shows a new firmware, follow the steps. The remote must be linked to the aircraft, and you need an internet connection.
- With the goggles (Immersive Motion Control): turn on the aircraft, the goggles and the remote and make sure they are linked. Connect the goggles' USB-C port to your phone, open DJI Fly and follow the prompt. You need an internet connection.
- It takes about 10 minutes. It is normal for the gimbal to go limp, the lights to blink and the aircraft to restart. Wait until it finishes, then restart the aircraft, the remote and the goggles.
DJI: the battery firmware is inside the aircraft firmware, so update every battery. The update may reset RTH Altitude and Maximum Flight Distance: note them before and set them again after. You can also update from a computer with DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drones Series); don't unplug the USB-C cable during the update.
