Questions our customers asked
Will my F-mount lens autofocus on a Z camera with the FTZ II?
Yes for 94 types of AF-P, AF-S and AF-I lenses (autofocus and auto-exposure). AF Type G and D lenses and other AF lenses work in manual focus only, per Nikon's table.
Does the FTZ II have a tripod mount?
No. Nikon designed it without one for a better vertical grip and room for accessories, and its slim shape lets you swap Z and F lenses while the camera stays on a tripod.
What is in the box?
The Mount Adapter FTZ II, the BF-1B Body Cap and the LF-N1 Rear Lens Cap.
Want to use your Nikon F-mount lenses on a Z camera?
The Nikon Mount Adapter FTZ II lets Nikon Z mount mirrorless cameras use NIKKOR F lenses, with autofocus and auto-exposure on 94 types of AF-P, AF-S and AF-I lenses.
Auto-exposure works with approx. 360 types of NIKKOR F lens from AI type onwards, and Nikon says image quality and AE/AF performance are equivalent to using the same NIKKOR F lens on a D-SLR.
The FTZ II has no tripod mount. That keeps your fingers clear when you shoot vertically, leaves room for video accessories, and its streamlined shape lets you swap between NIKKOR Z and F lenses while the camera stays on a tripod. Its sealing gives dust- and drip-resistant performance equivalent to the Nikon Z 9.
Specifications (Nikon): mount adapter for Nikon Z mount mirrorless cameras · approx. 70 mm (2.8 in) maximum diameter x 70 mm (2.8 in) long · approx. 125 g (4.5 oz).
In the box: Mount Adapter FTZ II, BF-1B Body Cap, LF-N1 Rear Lens Cap.
Good to know: AF Type G and D lenses (and other AF lenses) work in manual focus only on the FTZ II, per Nikon's supported-features table. Check your lens against Nikon's list before you buy.
